Court: Man Fined For Racist Slur At Police

June 25, 2018

A visiting man who used a racist slur towards police officers has been fined $1,500.

Gronda Dobroslaw was detained in the early hours of this morning for using offensive words outside an establishment in Hamilton.

Dobroslaw, 33, had been drinking during the evening, and people called police to report his behaviour.

The court heard that he was unsteady on his feet and smelled of alcohol when he was detained.

This morning in Magistrates Court, Dobroslaw admitted using offensive words — with the court hearing he called the police officers the n-word — and he apologized for his actions claiming it was “too much party”.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo told the New Jersey resident that the court took the matter extremely seriously.
