KPMG Offering New Scholarship Award

June 20, 2018

KPMG Bermuda has announced a new scholarship to be awarded to a Bermudian university student interested in pursuing a non-accounting career with KPMG.

A spokesperson said, “The scholarship will provide assistance to a student towards the completion of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a business-related subject, and will be offered in addition to the existing KPMG Accounting Scholarship, awarded to students committed to studying for a professional accounting designation [CPA or ACA].

“As part of our Graduate Program, the award, valued at $20,000 per annum, is renewable for a total of three [3] years, providing the student meets all of the required conditions. Consistent with the KPMG Accounting Scholarship, this new award also offers the recipient the opportunity to enter the firm’s Graduate Program upon the successful completion of their degree, as well take part in KPMG’s Global Advantage Program.

“The KPMG Global Advantage [GA] Program is an exciting and interactive 3-day leadership development program for top University students. GA is a leadership program that combines 8 hours of classroom training with a client experience, cultural activities, networking, and fun.

“The classroom training is developed by the award-winning KPMG US Business School and taught by KPMG US National Partner Instructors. Students are placed in small [25-person] classrooms with peers from around the world. The 2018 GA vent will take place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and will be attended by KPMG’s 2017 Scholarship recipient, Conor Lohan.

“KPMG knows what it takes to help students reach their full potential, by creating fulfilling career opportunities for young Bermudians both here in Bermuda and internationally. ”

Steve Woodward, Managing Director and Chair of the Graduate Committee, said, “KPMG is committed to developing the careers of our Bermudian students, so we are thrilled to announce this additional investment in a new non-accounting scholarship.

“In addition, providing the opportunity for our scholarship recipients to attend the KPMG Global Advantage program, will allow them to broaden their knowledge and experience, interact with some of the top students from around the world, and gain insight into what a career with KPMG can offer.”

“To apply, applications can be downloaded from bermudascholarships.com. Application deadline for the new KPMG Scholarship is June 29, 2018. For further details, please contact Angell Kasparian Director, Markets.”
