Usain Bolt ‘Excited’ To Meet Local Athletes
Superstar sprinter Usain Bolt will be visiting the island this Tuesday [June 26], where he is set to meet with local athletes in the morning, and then sign autographs and pose for photos with customers at the Digicel store on Church Street between 12.45 and 1.45pm.
The world’s fastest man is returning to the place where lighting first stuck when he visits Bermuda on Tuesday. The 2004 CARIFTA games at National Stadium is where he set his first world record with a time of 19.93 seconds in the Men’s Under-20 200m race.
The eight-time Olympic gold medalist is excited at the prospect of returning to the National Stadium to relive the memory of setting his debut world record. There, he’ll spend some time with young athletes from the local schools, answering questions and giving advice on how to move from grassroots to greatness.
Mr Bolt said, “I’m excited to meet some of the local young athletes and getting to know them, giving them a few speed secrets and just inspiring them in their budding track and field journeys.
“I can still remember the cheers of the Bermudians when I won my first world junior record in 2004, hopefully in another few years I’ll be watching these kids set some new records.”
As he is being paid by Digi, he will have a permit, right???? Check it out. Double standards
