November 25, 2018

[Updated] A taxi and a car were both damaged after a collision at the round-a-bout at the intersection of Crow Lane, Berry Hill Road and The Lane on Saturday evening.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 6:50pm Saturday, November 24th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision at the north round-a-bout, intersection of Crow Lane [Pembroke], Berry Hill Road and The Lane [Paget].

“It now appears that a taxi driven along The Lane intending to continue on to Berry Hill Road and a car driven along Crow Lane collided as both vehicles attempted to negotiate the north round-a-bout, with the taxi then striking a wall before ending up on its side.

“The taxi driver, believed to be a 58-year-old Southampton man, was said to have been hurt – although initial information suggested no serious injuries. An update on his medical condition is anticipated in due course.

“Apparently a passenger in the taxi at the time as well as the driver and passenger of the car involved were all unhurt.

“However, both vehicles were damaged.

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are still asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
