Minister & BTA CEO To Speak At Tourism Forum

The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce and the Bermuda Hotel Association are among the tourism stakeholder groups joining the Ministry of Tourism & Transport and the Bermuda Tourism Authority for an industry outlook forum on Wednesday.

The event will cover the challenges and opportunities for tourism in the year ahead, particularly how stakeholders can work collaboratively.

The free forum, called 2019 Bermuda Tourism Outlook, will take place February 20, from 3pm to 4:30pm at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.

Minister of Tourism & Transport Zane DeSilva and Bermuda Tourism Authority Chief Executive Kevin Dallas will be the main presenters.Their addresses will be followed by a panel discussion, allowing the audience to participate in industry dialogue with their questions.

In addition to Minister DeSilva and Mr. Dallas, the panelists will include:

  • Kendaree Burgess, Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive
  • Nathan Kowalski, Anchor Investments Chief Financial Officer
  • Tim Morrison, Bermuda Hotel Association President

The BTA noted, “Airlift forecast, cruise calls schedule, the National Tourism Plan and upcoming events are among the topics up for discussion.

“Earlier this month, the release of 2018 visitor arrival statistics revealed a third consecutive year of uninterrupted growth for Bermuda’s tourism industry. In order to maintain the island’s growth trajectory from the past 12 quarters, stakeholders must steer around mounting challenges.
