P.A.L.S. Fundraising Walk On February 24th

The annual P.A.L.S. Family Fun Walk & Run will be held on Sunday [Feb 24], with the event serving to raise funds for medical care, equipment and supplies for cancer patients in Bermuda.

A spokesperson said, “The 31st annual P.A.L.S. Family Fun Walk & Run is this Sunday, February 24. This is our major annual fundraiser, with contributed funds donated to medical care, equipment and supplies for cancer patients in Bermuda. Last year’s event attracted 650 participants and raised more than $40,000.

“The event, which is generously sponsored by Clarien Bank, Colonial Insurance, Butterfield & Vallis and Europa Imports, will again feature three distance options – 3K, 5K or 10K – to suit participants of all ages and abilities. The fun walk & run will start and finish at P.A.L.S. Headquarters at 18 Point Finger Road, Paget, with all routes following the scenic Railway Trail.

“The routes are as follows:

• 3k – turn around at Harmony Hall [before crossing South Shore Road]

• 5k – turn around at S. Hill

• 10k – turn around at the bus turn around on Ord Road, Warwick

“Participants must register before the event – there will be no registration on event day. Adult registration fee is $30.00, children 5-15 years $15.00 and an additional $10.00 for late registration [on February 23rd]. There is no fee for children under 5 years old.

“Registration can be made:

• Online www.racedayworld.com until Saturday, February 23rd at 10 a.m.

• In person at P.A.L.S. Headquarters now through Friday, February 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“Late registration will be available at P.A.L.S. Headquarters on Saturday, February 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“The following prizes will be given:

• 10 prizes given the day of event to walkers, all must put bottom of your number in the raffle drum and you be present to win.

• Everyone that raises over $250 will be entered into a draw, to take place on March 8th.

“Due to a delay in shipping Walk shirt and kit collection will take place at P.A.L.S. Headquarters [18 Point Finger Road] Friday February 22nd 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday February 23rd 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. To register as a group, please send a list of names, date of birth, telephone/email and address with credit card details.
