911 & Police Phone Number Back In Service
[Updated] The 911 emergency number presently is not working, the police said this evening, noting that anyone needing emergency assistance should contact the general police number on 295-0011.
A police spokesperson said, “Please be advised, the 911 emergency number presently is not working. We are asking anyone needing emergency assistance to please contact the general police number on 295-0011.”
Update 7.43pm: The police have now said that the main police number, 295-0011, is also not working, and provided additional numbers to use.
The police said, “Currently 911 and the main police telephone number 295-0011 are not working.
“Until further notice, if you need police/emergency assistance, please call 295-0012, 295-0064 or 292-7403. We will update as soon as the regular telephone numbers are operational again.”
Update 7.59pm: Police said, “Please be advised all the systems are back up and running. [This includes 911]. We would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
Update 8.33pm: Police have now said that, “911 is working but 295-0011 remains down. We appreciate your patience and ask that you continue to call 295-0012, 295-0064 or 292-7403 for non-emergency assistance until further notice.”
Update 11.45pm: The police said, “All systems are working normally again, including 911 and the main police telephone number 295-0011. We thank the public for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
