June 17: Edward Cross Long Distance Race
The 75th annual Edward Cross Long Distance Race, between the West End Sailboat Club, Mid Atlantic Boat and Sports Club and East End Mini Yacht Club, is set to take place on June 17.
To commemorate the 75th anniversary, the Long Distance Race Committee hosted a logo competition which was open to schools in order to develop a logo for the event. More than 30 drawings were received from T.N. Tatem and Clearwater Middle Schools, with the submissions being judged by graphic artists Nikki Fagan from Brand Lion, Shantal Emery from Argus, and Stephan Johnstone of SJDWORLD.
