Motorcycle Rider & Passenger Hurt In Collision
Emergency services responded to a collision on Saturday afternoon [April 20] located on South Road in Paget, involving a motorcycle and a car that resulted in two people being transported to hospital.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 4:30pm Saturday, April 20th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported collision on South Road in Paget, near the junction with White Sands Road.
“It appears that a car was being driven east along South Road and a motorcycle was being ridden in the same direction when the collision occurred in the vicinity of Ice Queen.
“The motorcycle rider, said to be an 18 year old Hamilton parish woman as well as the pillion passenger, said to be a 42 year old Hamilton parish woman, were hurt and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
“Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening and an update on their medical conditions is anticipated in due course.
“No other injuries were reported.
“Both vehicles involved were damaged and temporary traffic diversions were in effect following the crash.
“Any witnesses are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
