Premier Meets With American Congressmen

Premier David Burt recently met with a number of U.S politicians including Congressman George Holding of North Carolina, Congressman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver Chairman of the Financial Services, Congressman Lacy Clay, Chairman of the Financial Services, Rep. Richard Neal Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee, and Rep. G. K. Butterfield.

Premier Burt tweeted the photo below, saying: “Met with Congressman George Holding of North Carolina to discuss ways that the Bermuda insurance market assists disaster recovery efforts in the United States. The Bermuda Government will work with members from both sides of the aisle to advance our country’s interests.”

The Premier also tweeted the photo below, saying: “Met with Congressman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver Chairman of the Financial Services subcommitee on National Security, International Development and Monetary Policy to discuss the impact of derisking on Bermuda.”

Premier Burt tweeted the photo below, saying: “Met with Congressman Lacy Clay Chairman of the Financial Services sub committee on Insurance to reinforce that Bermuda will continue to assist communities in the United States to rebuild after natural disasters and is happy to work with the new Congress to expand coverage.”

Premier Burt tweeted the photo below, saying: “Met with Rep. Richard Neal Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee and Rep. G. K. Butterfield to discuss Bermuda’s new economic substance laws and our long history of cooperation with the United States on matters of tax transparency.”
