Football: Bermuda To Play Panama And Mexico

While fans and the football team are focused on next month’s Gold Cup games, Bermuda’s Concacaf Nations League matches have also been set.

Bermuda earned its spot in the Nations League A by finishing fifth out of 34 teams in the Nations League Qualifying Tournament. As such, they will start their campaign in that competition in September, The Gombey Warriors will play Panama and Mexico in Group B.

Top of the division will move on to the final championship with the three other group winners. The bottom side will be relegated to Nations League B.

The other nine teams include the region’s heavyweights: United States, Honduras, Costa Rica, Haiti, Canada, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique and Curacao.

Bermuda takes on Panama at the National Sports Centre on September 5. It will be a quick turnaround with the away leg just three days later on September 8.

The Gombey Warriors then face Mexico at home on October 11 with the away leg set for November 19.
