Celebrating 32 years of fundraising, the annual AXA End-to-End event got underway this morning [May 4] with walkers gathering at the Town Square in St. George’s before heading out to Dockyard at 7.00am.
Charities that will benefit from money raised by the event this year include WindReach, Age Concern, Friends of Hospice and Raleigh Bermuda. End-to-End Board Chair Anne Mello said: “The End-to-End is now in its 32nd year and in that time we have raised more than $5.65m. We cannot thank people enough for their support which has done so much for charities across the Island.”
.
Patrick Tannock, President of AXA XL’s Bermuda-based philanthropic unit, the XL Foundation, said, “It gives us great pride and pleasure to be the title sponsors for more than a decade of this significant charitable event. The fact that this event originated as a challenge among a few friends in our insurance industry who walked from one end of the island to another and has grown to involve and benefit thousands throughout the community speaks to its incredible evolution and importance.”
