June 21, 2019

Clearwater Middle School students were dismissed for the remainder of today [June 21], due to no water supply at the school according to the Department of Education [DoE].

A spokesperson said, “The Department of Education is advising that Clearwater Middle School students have been dismissed for the remainder of today, 21 June, due to no water supply at the school. While emergency work to a water pump was being conducted, the water supply to the school stopped.

“All necessary repairs to the water pump system are currently being carried out, and school is expected to resume as per the normal schedule on Monday, 24 June.

“The Department of Education is working closely with the Bermuda Land Development Company [BLDC] to ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely fashion so that students may resume their studies.

“All parents of Clearwater Middle School students have been contacted by the Principal in regards to dismissal procedures.

“The Ministry of Education asks parents, staff and students for their patience during this time and regrets any inconvenience caused.”

So if any student wishes to go home early just turn off the water supply. They should be working together to make sure that it doesn’t happen again. Always reactive never proactive typical Government way of doing things. SMH!
