Swimming: Desmond Competes In Open Water
Brian Desmond rounded out the Bermuda Swimming team’s participation at the Canadian Junior Championships in Calgary.
Competing in the 3-kilometer Open Water event, Desmond finished in a time of 43:22, crossing the line 33rd out of 36 competitors.
The winning time in the 16 – 18 Boys Age Group was 36:25.
Coach Richard Goodwin said, “Desmond did well to finish the event, swimming in water with a temperature of 68 degrees F.”
The venue was Lake Chaparral, a man-made lake in a residential neighborhood, about 25 kilometers south of the city.
