World Sailing Body To Meet In Bermuda

The Offshore Racing Congress [ORC], the international competitive sailing body. will be holding its annual general meeting in Bermuda in October.

ORC is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of global rating and classification standards used to define offshore yacht racing handicap categories.

The meetings will take place at the Fairmont Southampton between October 25-30.

Submissions to ORC’s various committees from national sailing authorities for suggestions to improve the system are currently being accepted in the run-up to the Bermuda meeting.

“We are very proud of our committee and congress members and the staff for their continued dedication to providing the highest quality in rating products and services,” said Bruno Finzi, chairman of ORC, in a statement. “We feel this helps the sport grow and thrive when a scientific and transparent system is used for the benefit of the sailing community worldwide.”
