Photos/Video: Ramsay ‘Bo’ Saggar Laid To Rest

October 27, 2019

Family, friends and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service coworkers gathered at New Testament Church of God, Heritage Worship Centre on Dundonald Street today [Oct 27] to pay respects and celebrate the life of fire fighter Ramsay ‘Bo’ Saggar.

Officiating the ceremony was Bishop Lloyd Duncan. Many tributes were read and words of comfort were offered by Chaplin Dr. Kevin Santucci.

Escorted by police, the procession — which included a large contingent of Fire Service vehicles and personnel — left the church with Mr Saggar’s casket draped in a flag and carried on the back of a fire truck.

The group proceeded past the Hamilton Police Station where members of the Bermuda Police Service showed their respect outside the station and then drove by the Hamilton Fire Station where vehicles were lined in front of the building and staff stood to attention offering their last goodbye.

A BFRS spokesperson noted, “His last wish before reaching his final resting place was to take a drive through his old neighbourhood. Devon Springs onto Collector’s Hill then North Shore and to his last home in St John’s Cemetery. He took his resting place as the sun retreated beyond the skyline…. til we meet again…”.
