Government Advisory: By-Election On Thursday
The Parliamentary Registrar reminds voters that this Thursday [Nov 21], the by-election for Pembroke Central Constituency 17 will take place at the St. Paul AME Church hall.
A government spokesperson said, “The Parliamentary Registrar reminds voters that this Thursday, 21 November 2019, the by-election for Pembroke Central Constituency 17 will take place at the St. Paul AME Church hall, in the city of Hamilton.
“Polling station hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00p.m. The Parliamentary Registry will be open for the duration of the polls to assist voters.
“All voters must bring a valid photo identification in order to vote. The use of portable electronic devices is not allowed inside the polling station.
“Employers are reminded that, in accordance with section 36[3] of the Parliamentary Election Act 1978, every parliamentary elector whose name appears in the parliamentary register for a Constituency in respect of which a contested parliamentary election is held shall, if he is in employment, be entitled to receive from his employer without penalty
“sufficient time off work on the polling day to enable him to travel to the election room and there record his vote.
