Two Injured In Scaur Hill Motorcycle Crash
A motorcyclist and his passenger were transported to hospital this morning [Nov 13] after crashing into a wall in Sandys and falling several feet to the shoreline below, according to police.
A spokesperson said, “Around 1:15am Wednesday, November 13th police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and ambulance personnel were dispatched to a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Morgan Hill.
“It appears that a 17 year old male rider and 26 year old male passenger were traveling west along Somerset Road when the motorcycle they were on struck a wall at the bottom of Scaur Hill.
“Apparently the two males involved went over the wall and fell several feet to the shoreline below – but somehow each managed to climb back up to the road despite being injured.
“Both males were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance – conscious and alert – for treatment.
“Traffic flow in the area has been reduced to one lane while the scene is being processed.
“Any witnesses that have not already come forward are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
