Sandys Boat Club Win Island Construction Cup
Warwick Workman’s Club Two team took on defending champions Sandys Boat Club One team in the final of the Island Construction Cup held at Warwick Workman’s Club.
Richie Beale opened the scoring for Sandys when he defeated Warwick’s Mike Zimmerman, closing him out on the colors to pick up the win 62-44.
Sandys Martin Siese built on that lead next when he defeated Warwick’s Ray DeSilva 64-26.
The 3rd game saw Zane DeSilva pull one back for Warwick, defeating Sandys Peter Bromby by 51-38.
Steven Bremar drew Warwick level as he saw off Sandys Paul Fedden to make it 2-2 in a convincing 50-16 win.
The tie-breaker saw a rematch for Sandys Richie Beale and Warwick’s Mike Zimmerman, and in what was the longest game of the snooker match, Beale clinched the win for Sandys when he saw Zimmerman off by 64-28 to retain the title for Sandys.
