Public Health [Covid-19 Emergency Powers] Regulations 2020

Large Group Exemption: Bermuda Championship Golf Tournament

Whereas the Minister of National Security considers that the proposed Bermuda Championship Golf Tournament is justifying an exemption from the prohibition in regulation 4 [1] and [2] of the Public Health [COVID-19 Emergency Powers] Regulations 2020 on groups of more than seventy-five persons assembling;

Now, therefore, the Minister grants an exemption under regulation 4 [4] of those Regulations permitting a group of more than seventy-five persons to assemble between Monday, October 26and Sunday, November 1, 2020, at The Port Royal Golf Course 5 Port Royal Golf Course Road, Southampton Parish with following conditions:

Conditions:

  • All persons at the event must wear a face mask and maintain appropriate physical distancing at all times. [This will not apply to players and caddies whilst competing]
  • Maximum number of spectators permitted to attend – 750 [General Admission – 500 / Hospitality 250] on the following days between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm:
    • Thursday October 29th
    • Friday October 30th
    • Saturday October 31st
    • Sunday November 1st
  • Bermuda Championship to record names and contact details of spectators for purpose of contact tracing. Information to be retained for a period of 28 days post-date of the event.
  • Wearing of masks required when not seated or moving about the venue.
  • Adherence to all relevant COVID 19 Health Guidelines as published by the Ministry of Health.
  • The Ministry of National Security reserves the right to withdraw the permission to have more than seventy-five persons assembled at the event without notice to the organizer or cost to the Bermuda Government subject to the status of COVID 19 in the local community.
  • The Bermuda Police Service and/or the Ministry of National Security Officials have right to attend and observe for compliance to the conditions as set by the Minister.
