Video: Kole Hall Scores In Radcliffe FC Win

Bermuda’s Kole Hall scored for Radcliffe FC as they recorded a 3 – 1 victory over South Shields at Mariners Park.

The club’s match report said, “Lee Fowler’s Radcliffe FC claimed their first three points of the season as they beat South Shields 3-1 at Mariners Park. Jean Louis Akpa-Akpro’s brace sandwiched Kole Hall’s second half dink to cancel out Alex Kempster’s header.

“Radcliffe were in dream land within a minute. Jean Louis Akpa- Akpro latched onto the ball and fired goal wards. His shot made it’s way past Myles Boney in the Shields goal.

“Two minutes later the home side went in search of an equaliser. The Boro managed to clear their lines after a dangerous ball into the area.

“Cam Belford was called into action early on. He stopped a goal bound shot with his feet as South Shields looked clean through.

“It was end to end stuff as the half went on. Alex Kempster saw efforts go wide of the mark before both Luca Navarro and Akpa- Akpro saw strikes saved by Boney.

“Navarro again saw his effort fly over the bar after some pressure in the final third from the away side.

“With 32 minutes on the clock, South Shields were level. Kempster headed home from a dangerous corner to bring his side back into the game.

“Shortly before the half time whistle, the Boro went in search of the lead. Curtis Obeng played a dangerous ball into the box but no one could find a meaningful touch to find the back of the net.

“Belford was called into action before the break, He was forced into a low one-handed save to keep South Shields at bay.

“The two sides were level at the break after a very competitive half of football.

“Within two minutes of the restart, Shields had a great opportunity to take the lead. They flashed a brilliant ball across the box but no one could find a touch.

“Matty Crothers forced a save from Boney after a powerful shot from outside the box. He collected at the second time of asking.

“Shortly before the hour mark the Boro were back in front. The returning Jack Shiels played a great ball over the top to unleash Kole Hall. Hall dinked the Boney to retake the lead.

“The home side looked to get straight back into the game moments later. Another balled flashed across the six-yard box which couldn’t be poked home.

“Jason Gilchrist tried to take matters into his own hands for Shields. He hit a powerful strike from outside the box but it cannoned off the cross bar to safety.

“Substitute Andy Owens very nearly made an instant impact after coming on with 15 minutes to go. His effort went just wide of the post after a clever turn.

“Belford was called into action with 10 minutes to go, he made another smart save as the home side looked to be in.

“Moments later, Owens caused a problem in the Shields box before squaring to Akpa- Akpro in the area who slotted into the corner to double the Boro’s lead.

“In the dying embers of the game, Belford had to collect the ball off the post after a shot from a very tight angle.

“The Boro held on to claim their first three points of the season on a tough away trip to Mariners Park.”
