Bermuda Arts Centre Set To Open ‘Small Show’
The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard will open its annual ‘Small Show’ on Sunday [Dec 6], along with a show by artist Cheryl Hastings and the first of three holiday-themed events.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard kicks off Christmas this coming Sunday with the opening of their annual ‘Small Show.’ All work is created in a perfect size for Christmas, with the largest being 8″x10″. Perfect for shipping and affordable for gift giving.
“This is a members’ show that has an open theme, so work will be offered in all media with paintings, ceramics, jewelry, and various crafts.
“There will be vendor tables set up offering a large selection of home made crafts, jewelry, and more to offer an additional choice of Christmas gifts.
“Opening along with the ‘Small Show’ is Cheryl Hastings’ solo show ‘Cherylscapes.’ Cheryl is a member of the Bermuda Plein Air Group and her work reflects one year of acrylic paintings from around the island.
“Vibrant colours against peaceful scenes make this not to be missed. Cheryl will be available at the gallery to have a chat from 12.00pm to 2.30pm and will be offering painting demonstrations from 1.00pm.
“This year, the Arts Centre is partnering with their neighbours, The Bermuda Craft Market and The Frog and Onion Pub. This Sunday will kick off the start of three Sunday events, with the following to be held on December 13 and December 20.
“The Bermuda Craft Market will be open from 10.00am to 4.30pm. There will be vendors available in the market and their atrium, offering locally created crafts. They will also have ‘Make and Take’ tables for those wishing to learn to create a Christmas craft, and then take it away.
“Samples of Bermuda fudge and rum cake will also be available.
“The Frog and Onion Pub is offering tastings of fish chowder, cassava pie, and grog eggnog, and their beer shack will be open to offer samplings of their own brewed beer. Live entertainment will be offered from 1.00pm to 4.00pm.
“Children may visit with Santa [social distancing applied] from 1.00pm to 3.00pm. They also have their annual Giving Tree, inviting the public to hang a frog decoration for charity. Lunch in a fun atmosphere will be served.
“For more information and a listing of events, visit Bermuda Arts Centre’s website, Bermuda Craft Market’s Facebook page, or the Frog & Onion Pub website.”
