BELCO’s Main Office To Close To Walk-Ins

April 12, 2021

Starting tomorrow [April 13], BELCO’s head office at 27 Serpentine Road will be closed.

A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited [BELCO] today provided an update on operations and information for customers when Bermuda enters the recently announced ‘Stay at Home’ order. Beginning Tuesday, 13th April 2021, BELCO’s head office at 27 Serpentine Road will be closed.

“BELCO has provided several options for customers to view and pay their bills during this time, while they cannot visit the main office. Customers can sign-up for an account at www.belco.bm where they can view their account balance, or they can call 299-2800 between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm and a Customer Service Representative will be happy to provide their outstanding balance. They can also send an email to info@belco.bm to sign up for e-billing and bills will be e-mailed to them.

“Customers may also pay their BELCO bill online at www.belco.bm using Mastercard, Visa or America Express, sign-up for on-demand debit and direct debit services or opt to pay through local online banking or via an ATM.

“Meter readers will be unable to visit customer homes to read meters at this time. If you do not have an AMI meter and you receive a bill that says ***THIS IS AN ESTIMATED BILL*** on the right-hand side of the bill, customers may take a photo of their meter and submit to info@belco.bm where the bill will be updated to reflect the actual reading.

“Any pre-scheduled power interruptions to carry out maintenance work will be postponed until a later date and affected customers will be notified of a new date.

BELCO President Wayne Caines said: “At BELCO we are continuing to ensure business continuity and assist our customers during these unprecedented times.

“I would like to thank our dedicated staff who continue to keep our plant and operations running 24 hours a day and also our customers for their understanding and cooperation as we work to implement best practices to limit the spread of COVID-19. We are making it easier for our customers to receive and pay their bills and are available online, via phone and e-mail and our customer service representatives will assist in any way we can.”
