Virtual Ag Show Working To Arrange A New Date

April 26, 2021

The first-ever ‘Virtual Ag Show’ scheduled for Friday, April 23rd was postponed, however the organisers said they ”have been diligently working” to arrange a new date.

A spokesperson said, “The first-ever ‘Virtual Ag Show’ scheduled for Friday, April 23rd was postponed by the Ag Show committee [the committee] due to the rise in Covid-19 cases island-wide.”

Antwan Albuoy, Exhibition Director, said: “The Agricultural Show is one of Bermuda’s most iconic events and has brought together residents and locals alike since the 1920s to celebrate the island’s unique heritage and talent.

“While the rise in positive coronavirus cases has made it impossible to proceed with the event on the original Friday, April 23rd date, we have decided to postpone the event rather than cancel it.

“In recent months, we have heard from many teachers and the recurring message from them is preparing exhibits and entries have been a welcome distraction for school children, providing them with a glimmer of hope in what has otherwise been a bleak time for many.”

“Since the announcement, we have been diligently working with the Ministry of Public Works to arrange new dates and with the Ministry of Health to put in place all Covid-19 guidelines. While we continue in preparation of the first-ever ‘Virtual Ag Show,’ we thank Axis Capital for making this event possible with their support.

“We look to receive exhibits by curbside delivery sometime in late May. All exhibits are set for curbside delivery except Square Foot Gardens, Educational Displays and Healthy Lunchboxes. The exhibits exempt from curbside delivery can be uploaded to the Ag Show website using the link https://bermudaexhibition.com/login.

“The committee will release dates, times for delivery, judging, and pick up in due course.”
