BHB Release “Be Kind” Logo This Month
Bermuda Hospitals Board’s [BHB] Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute [MWI] urges the public to be kind with the release of its Be Kind logo.
A spokesperson said, “Acknowledging the stress the pandemic has placed on many in our community, Bermuda Hospitals Board’s [BHB] Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute [MWI] urges the public to be kind with the release of its Be Kind logo.
“Kindness was the theme of MWI’s Mental Health Awareness Week last year. At the close of the week, Health Minister Hon Kim Wilson JP MP encouraged the public to make the practice a habit.
“MWI therapists worked with their clients on a logo to illustrate kindness. In group sessions they discussed what the word meant to them and then agreed with a depiction of those words in the shape of two hands coming together.
“Research shows that kindness has a positive and cumulative effect on one’s mental health. The act of being kind to someone makes the giver feel good and the recipient of the kind act also experiences a positive effect in their emotional and mental state.”
“As May is Heritage Month, a time when we typically consider and celebrate what unites us, we thought it was a fitting time to release the logo,” said BHB Acting Chief Operating Officer and VP of Clinical Operations, MWI Preston Swan. “The MarketPlace supported our idea and will be featuring them on their grocery bags this month.”
“We at the MarketPlace believe that simple acts of kindness can make a significant impact on a person’s mental health during these uncertain and challenging times.” “We encourage everyone to be kind to each other,” said MarketPlace Marketing Director Natalie Rego.
The bags are in stores now.
