The 2021 Ag Show has been held, attracting more than 1,500 entries in this year’s ‘socially distanced’ version of the popular annual event.
A spokesperson said, “The 2021 Ag Show is now in the history book. With more than 1,500 entries to this year’s Ag Show, exhibitors spent the better part of last week delivering their exhibits to Botanical Gardens.
“Volunteers welcomed and assisted exhibitors with deliveries through the curbside drop-off process. Plants, vegetables, cakes, kites, and many more crowd favorites were delivered between Wednesday, May 19th- Thursday, May 20th.
“For many divisions, judging began at the close of the delivery day while other divisions were judged on Friday, May 21st. The judging panel for divisions included local and international judging experts from respective fields.”

Exhibition Director, Antwan Albouy, stated “Despite the challenges we all have experienced over the last year, this show proved our community was built on a foundation of resilience. As a committee, we did not know where this journey would lead, but we knew we had to keep traveling.”
“All exhibits submitted were awarded, first, second, third place ribbons, with many exhibits receiving ‘highly commended’ recognition.
“It was heartwarming to see the excitement expressed regarding the participation and an absolute joy to see exhibits on display again,” continued Mr Albouy.
While the event did not include the normal large crowds, due to the pandemic, the organisers have arranged a special broadcast of the 2021 Ag Show, which will air at 9.00am on Thursday, May 27th on a number of outlets including Bernews, Channel 82, Ag Show Facebook page, and CITV.
“Other opportunities to catch the rebroadcast of the show will be Friday, May 28th – Sunday, May 30th on Channel 82 at 9am, 2pm, and 8pm. Check CITV for the broadcast programming schedule starting Monday, May 31st,” a spokesperson added,
“The Ag Show Ltd. would like to thank all those that assisted in making this possible: Axis Capital, Lead Sponsor; other sponsors, AXA, Gorham’s, Cox Hallett Wilkinson Limited and Chubb; Ministry of Public Works; Ministry of Health; Ministry of Education; all the Educators, Parents and Students; volunteers, local and international judges; our production team and the Bermuda community.
“The 2021 version of the Ag Show would not have been possible without the support, enthusiasm, and belief that we could overcome with resilience. Happy Heritage Month!”
