Bermuda Inline Ball Hockey Season Underway
The Bermuda Inline Ball Hockey Summer League season got underway at the PCC Hockey Rink, with a total of 34 goals scored in the two games.
Pembroke Pirates 9 - Boaz Island Beer Barons 8
This season opener saw a total of 17 goals scored with the Pembroke Pirates edging the Boaz Island Beer Barons 9 – 8 in overtime.
A total of 11 goals were scored in the opening period, with the Boaz Island Beer Barons leading 7 – 4. The Pembroke Pirates then scored twice in the second period and limited the Boaz Island Beer Barons to one goal to make the score 8 – 6 to the Boaz Island Beer Barons with one period to play.
The Pembroke Pirates got the two goals needed in the third period to level the score at 8 – 8, and then Adam Mattatall got the all-important goal in the overtime period.
Shannon Gosse led the Pembroke Pirates to victory with a hat-trick, while Christopher Jackson added 2 goals, they then got single strikes in regulation time off the sticks of Pete Brodsky, Matt Katzsch, and Mattatall.
Kris Abramowski scored a hat-trick for the Boaz Island Beer Barons, Mathieu Desjardins scored twice, while Ryan Wilson, Matthew Ingelman, and Matt Mcphail all added a goal each.
Hamilton Hurricanes 10 – Paget Pistols 7
This game saw another 17 goals as the Hamilton Hurricanes defeated the Paget Pistols 10 – 7.
The Hamilton Hurricanes outscored the Paget Pistols 4 – 1 in the first period, and then both teams scored three goals apiece in the other two periods.
The Hamilton Hurricanes were led to victory by Richard Campbell who scored 4 times, while Chris Grantier chipped in with a hat-trick, Scott Shannon, Bruce Sinclair, and Derrick Farmer all added a goal each. The Paget Pistols got two goals apiece from Brian White, and Marcel Bouwens, while Wyatt Woloshyn, Jean-Michael Tremblay, and Cam Poland all found the back of the net once.
