Inside Caribbean Football: Wells Is Highest Value

July 3, 2021

Bermuda’s Nahki Wells - who captained Bermuda’s team in their 8-1 victory over Barbados – has the top ‘market value’ of the players in the teams taking part in the Gold Cup preliminaries.

This is according to Inside Caribbean Football — which does a great job providing statistics and data related to football in the region — who posted the graphic online, saying, “Here are the top 5 most expensive Caribbean players in 2021 Gold Cup Preliminary games. Bermudian forward Nahki Wells has the highest market value.”

Wells proved why he has such a high ‘market value’ in the match against Barbados, scoring a hat trick and also earning the notable distinction of scoring the fastest goal in Gold Cup history, with his first goal coming only 17 seconds into the match against Barbados.

The Bermudian footballer has played professionally in England for years, and his former club commanded a transfer fee in excess of $2 million, the highest amount ever paid for a Bermudian footballer.
