Photo Set II: BIU Members Gather & March
Buses and ferries are suspended and some other services have been impacted as some members of the Bermuda Industrial Union [BIU] gathered today [Aug 30] at Union Square and marched through Hamilton to protest of aspect contained in the Trade Union & Labour Relations [Consolidation] Act 2021.
The BIU called for their non-essential members to gather for two days in protest of the latest legislation, which the Government has said they have “no intention” of amending.

We just paid them for over a year for doing nothing. Now they are striking over trivia. And we’re expected to pretend we think it’s all fine?
Government paid you too did they not? Did you work from home and get paid like you actually did a whole day of work like you would in the office. Love to see a productivity report on that…. please you lot in most office jobs can’t wait to not be at work and take every day off that you can. But good for you not everyone has that luxury. Good luck with maintaining things if these people where not there for you.

No, the government did not pay me a penny. I carried on working, as best I could, and I carried on paying the government. That’s how it works for the rest of us.

Disrupting traffic and using valuable Police resources for escorting these clowns around town! Sorry but I am no not sympathetic to the Union anymore. This is just a stick up and smash and grab job going on! Enough Bermuda! Let’s take our Island back from these jokers and make many more public financed services ESSENTIAL so they are provided no matter the way some clown feels from day to day. This is political!
