Temporary Traffic Delays Due To Brush Fire
[Updated] There are “temporary traffic delays in the Harrington Hundreds Road, Knapton Hill, Smith’s Parish area, due to a brush fire” this evening [Aug 26].
At 6.50pm, a police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public of temporary traffic delays in the Harrington Hundreds Road, Knapton Hill, Smith’s Parish area, due to a brush fire, which has caused heavy smoke in the area.
“The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service are presently on Harrington Hundreds Road near the junction with Flowercote Lane, extinguishing the fire which is reported to be near a BELCO utility pole.
“Police are also on scene diverting traffic and we would like to advise members of the public to avoid the area and use alternative routes if possible.”
Update 7.35pm: The police said that the roads have reopened.
