Barbi Bishop Resigns From The Police Service
The police have confirmed that Barbi Bishop — the police officer who posted the “all lives splatter, no one cares about your protest” meme on social media in 2020 — has “tendered her resignation.”
This evening, a police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that following the outcome of the Constitutional matter involving P.C. Barbi Bishop, P.C. Bishop tendered her resignation from the Service. The BPS has accepted her resignation with her last working day being the 27th September.”
In 2020 the Department of Public Prosecutions approved a charge against her of allegedly “sending a grossly offensive message via a public electronic communications service,” however in August 2021 the court ruled that the “criminal proceedings against the Applicant be dismissed.”
