Open Mat Athletes Win Medals In Las Vegas
Open Mat Bermuda [Jiu Jitsu Academy] raked in the medals after representing Bermuda in an International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation [IBJJF] tournament held in Las Vegas.
Four competitors took to the mats during the four day, Single-Elimination event, which attracted thousands of international participants.
Ryce Lima fought her way through the brackets, winning herself a Gold Medal in the White Belt Adult Ultra Heavyweight Division, James Adams earned a Silver Medal in the White Belt Master 1 Heavyweight Division, while Chris Regan, OMB Coach and member of the BPS, brought home a Bronze Medal in the Black Belt Adult Nogi Heavyweight Division.
Open Mat Bermuda is under the direction and coaching of Aaron Dyer and Regan. They are located on 8 Mills Creek Road and offer a free month to any prospective members who want the opportunity to learn a new skill through the art of Jiu Jitsu.
