Nahki Wells Scores Twice For Bristol U23
Bermuda’s Nahki Wells scored twice for the Bristol City U23 team as they played to a 3-3 draw against Cardiff City today.
The club’s match report said, “City Under-23s had to settle for a point in their Professional Development League 2 fixture against Cardiff City after the Bluebirds completed a second half comeback at the Robins HPC.
“Nahki Wells bagged himself a brace, while Tommy Conway also managed to get on the scoresheet for the Robins. However, three goals in the second period saw the Bluebirds complete their comeback to earn a point in BS8.
“City came out of the blocks firing when James Morton’s free-kick was headed home by Wells. The Young Robins then doubled their lead minutes later as Conway dribbled his way into space and struck the ball into the bottom left corner.
“The Young Robins then got their third when Wells’ shot crashed off the crossbar, fell to Josh Owers whose shot was then saved but Wells was there on the rebound to get his second of the game.
“Cardiff were able to get a goal back thanks to Colwill’s free-kick which was hit hard and low past Wiles-Richards.
“The visitors pulled another one back after a scramble from a corner saw Ibrahim Bakare bundle the ball into the back of the net. Cardiff completed their comeback in added time when Cian Ashford scored direct from a corner kick to leave the scores level at the end of the 90.”
The Bermudian footballer is not under 23, however the clubs are allowed to field a limited number of over age players in their matches.
