Police Confirm Death Of Wayne Augustus
The police have now confirmed the death of 51-year-old Wayne J. Augustus, who died following a collision in Southampton.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] can now confirm the death of 51-year-old Wayne J. Augustus, Bermuda’s third road fatality for 2022, and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
The police said Mr. Augustus “was seriously injured in a single vehicle motorcycle crash on South Road, Southampton near Church Bay around 3:15am Saturday, 26th March 2022.
“Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, which continued as he was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, Mr. Augustus later succumbed to his injuries.
“A BPS Family Liaison Officer is providing support to loved ones of the deceased at this time.
“Constable Garwin Phillips is continuing to investigate the circumstances of this fatal crash and members of the public with any relevant information are once again asked to call 211 or the main police number 295-0011. Constable Phillips can also be reached via his email at gphillips2@bps.bm.”
