Latest Bermuda Softball League Results
During the latest round of Bermuda Softball League action, the Kings split a pair of games in the A Division, beating Blue Wahoos 16-11 but falling to the X-bats 19-3.
Earlier in the week, X-Bats lost to Paraquet Flyers 14-13. Manuel Flores smocked three homers out of Bernard Park for Allstars as he plated eight runs while teammates Steve O’Flynn [4-4] and Lewis Reynoso [3-4] set the table for him. The other A Division contest saw Fully Loaded Allstars win a nail-biter against MoonGate Brewers 11-10. Allstars and Flyers lead the division with 2-1 records.
The Hakuna Matata Lions slipped past the Beach Bums in B Division Clash as they prevailed 13-11 in a battle of the unbeatens. Bums were down early but fought back valiantly by scoring eight runs in the final two innings.
A grand slam by Tom Hart in the seventh helped Bums draw within two. Shannon Raynor [3-4] was the big man for Lions as he drove home five runs and hit one out of the Michael Preece Softball Diamond. Ranor’s teammates Troy Hall and Scott Barnes had three hits apiece in the victory. The Lions are now 3-0 and are one of three teams who have perfect records in softball. FIU Scared Hitless edged ragamuffins 17-14.
Mike’s Trucking motored past the Corporation of Hamilton 15-11in the C Division. Trucking also bested Oddballs 10-1. Ray Martin was 4-4 for Trucking in the Oddballs win, while teammates Dean Abigail [3-4] and Jaryn Martin [2-3] also contributed. Oddballs only had three hits in the loss.
The two victories helped Trucking become the first team to claim four wins in any division. Super Express had a laugher as it demolished Butterfield & Vallis 36-1 in a game that only lasted four innings. Mackih McGowan, Antoine Williams, and Garic Swainson were all 5-5, with McGowan blasting two. Chris Mayne doubled home the lone run for B&V. Five O’s triumphed in a 13-12 match against Oddballs.
