Football: BFA Youth Knockout Cup Finals Held

The Bermuda Football Association’s 2022 Youth Knockout Cup Finals took place at the National Sports Center Flora Duffy South Field Stadium.

A total of 15 goals were scored in regulation time in the four matches, and two of the matches also had to be decided by penalties..

Under 13 B Final: FC Bascome 2 Somerset Trojans 0

FC Bascome scored a goal in each half to defeat the Somerset Trojans 2 – 0 in the Under 13 B Final.

Rajee Knights-Rowling converted from the penalty spot in the 24th minute to give FC Bascome the lead. Too Hyland doubled the FC Bascome lead in the 69th to earn them the win.

Patrick Dill was named the MVP for the Somerset Trojans, while Jack Fischer was the MVP for FC Bascome.

Under 13 A Final: Dandy Town Hornets 2 [5] Warwick Archers 2 [4]

This match between the Dandy Town Hornets and the Warwick Archers had to be decided on kicks from the penalty mark after the match ended 2 – 2.

The Warwick Archers took the lead in the in the 23rd minute when Syhon Goater scored, but Azende Trott Smith equalized for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 33rd minute. Amari Smith put the Warwick Archers back in front on the stroke of halftime with a free kick, but Kennahz Fray equalized for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 53rd minute.

The Dandy Town Hornets would then lift the cup after a 5-4 Kicks from the Penalty Mark victory over the Warwick Archers, Curtis Jackson Jr. was named the Dandy Town Hornets MVP, while Keori Binns Leverock was the Warwick Archers MVP.

Under 15 Final: Warwick Archers 1 [5] FC Bascome 1 [4]

This match would also need kicks from the penalty mark to determine a winner as the Warwick Archers and FC Bascome played to a 1 – 1 draw during regulation time.

Nyan Grant gave the Warwick Archers the lead with a long range effort, but Jutore Burgess equalized for FC Bascome.

The Warwick Archers would then lift the cup after a 5-4 penalty victory over FC Bascome. Burgess was named the MVP for FC Bascome, while Malachi Henry was the MVP for the Warwick Archers.

Under 17 Final: Warwick Archers 7 Somerset Trojans 0

The Warwick Archers got a hat-trick from MVP Daniel Cook as they defeated the Somerset Trojans 7 – 0. The Warwick Archers also got single strikes from Tajai Goater, Niyan Outerbridge, Ande Simons, and Andre Mussenden.

Kymani McNeil was named the Somerset Trojans MVP.
