Women’s Team Win CAZOVA Bronze Medal
Bermuda women’s team was back in action on the final day of the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association [CAZOVA] Under-23 Invitational Beach Volleyball Tournament in Santa Cruz, Trinidad, making a strong showing to win the bronze medal.
The Bermuda women’s team of Amber Simons and Kaylee Trott took on Tysan Selvon and Britney Choon from Trinidad in a semi-final match up, where they were defeated in straight sets 21 – 14, 21 – 7, to move on to the bronze medal match.
Simons and Trott took on Maggie Boyd and Gabby Walker from the Cayman Islands, and won the bronze medal in a three-set battle. Cayman won the first game 21 – 15, but Simons and Trott leveled the match at 1 – 1 when they won game two 21 – 14, and in the third and final game, Simons and Trott claimed the victory winning 15 – 9.
