Over 4 Mile Queue Forms In UK For Queen
Thousands of people are in the queue to pay their final respects to Queen Elizabeth II in London, with the official queue tracker stating that it is currently 4.2 miles [6.75 km] long, with the estimated wait time of at least nine hours.
In the Bermuda context, this is approximately equivalent to the distance from the airport to Shelly Bay or from the Cabinet Office in Hamilton to Flatts.
Up to 400,000 people are expected to brave a 12-hour wait on the banks of the Thames to catch a glimpse of the Queen’s coffin as she lies in state in Westminster Hall ahead of her funeral on Monday, the Express report.
The last member of the Royal Family to lie in state in the hall was the Queen Mother in 2002, when more than 200,000 people queued to view her coffin.
