Nia Christopher scored for her Towson University women’s soccer team as they played to a 2-0 victory, marking the Bermudian footballer’s 17th career goal for the University.
The school’s match report said, “The Towson University women’s soccer team picked up their fourth straight victory in a 2-0 win against Bucknell on Thursday night.
“Towson [5-1-1] scored the opening goal of the game on Nia Christopher’s 28th minute penalty kick. That would be all the Tigers would need to get past Bucknell [3-3]. Jasmine Hamid added an insurance goal in the 65th minute off a Reese Borden corner kick.
“The Tigers improved their win streak to four games and are undefeated in their last five with four shutouts during the streak.
“Nia Christopher gave Towson the lead in the 28th minute. After drawing a foul in the box, Christopher calmly put home her penalty kick to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
“Nia Christopher scores her 17th career goal and moves into ninth all-time. She also scored her eighth game winning goal, good for second all-time.”
