Hopkins & Conyers Win Medals In Caribbean

Kaden Hopkins has claimed the men’s elite and under-23 individual time-trial titles at the Caribbean Road Cycling Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic today [Oct 22].
Hopkins, who has travelled to the Caribbean as part of Bermuda’s seven-strong team, completed the course in 36min 41.06sec. Conor White came seventh in the men’s elite race in 39:43.89.
Caitlin Conyers won the silver medal in the women’s elite individual time-trial, posting a time of 27:54.45.
Only two riders per country were permitted to compete in the time-trial per gender.
The men’s and women’s elite and under-23 road races, featuring Hopkins, White, Conyers, Gabriella Arnold, Liam Flannery, Alexander Miller and Nicholas Narraway, take place tomorrow.
The championships are a qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Championships in San Salvador, El Salvador, in June, and the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, next October.
