Results: Premier & First Division Football

Footballers in the Premier Division and First Division were in action this weekend, with Devonshire Cougars, Hamilton Parish, Ireland Rangers, and Young Men Social Club all earning wins.

Premier Division

Devonshire Cougars 6 Somerset Trojans 0

At the Devonshire Recreation Club, the home team Devonshire Cougars defeated visiting Somerset Trojans 6 – 0. Elisha Darrell capitalized on a defensive error in the 24th minute to give the Devonshire Cougars the lead, Darrell doubled the lead in the 44th minute, they would take that 2 – 0 lead to the break.

Darrell completed his hat-trick in the 59th minute giving the Devonshire Cougars a 3 – 0 lead, in the 74th minute it was 4 – 0 when Demetre Daniels found the back of the net, and then in the 82nd minute, Jesse Seymour scored to make it 5 – 0 to the Devonshire Cougars, with Zari Simmons closing out the scoring in the 88th minute earning the 6 – 0 win.

Hamilton Parish 4 X-Road’s 1

Hamilton Parish got their season off to a good start with a 4 – 1 win over X-Road’s at Lord’s in St. David’s. Zuhri Burgess gave Hamilton Parish the lead in the 23rd minute, however, Donavan Thompson equalized for X-Road’s in the 32nd minute, but two minutes later Hamilton Parish was back in front through a Shayne Hollis strike.

Macquille Walker put Hamilton Parish ahead 3 – 1 in the 53rd minute, and then Aaron Nelson would make it 4 – 1 to Hamilton Parish in the 84th minute.

First Division

Devonshire Colts 0 Ireland Rangers 3

At the Devonshire Recreation Club, Ireland Rangers defeated the Devonshire Colts 3 – 0. Seki Proctor scored the opening goal for Ireland Rangers with a long-range shot that caught the goalkeeper off his line in the 5th minute. Leo Burgess doubled the score in the 23rd minute when he beat the advancing goalkeeper to the ball and scored.

Jahnai Ratteray scored in the 55th minute for Ireland Ranger to make the score 3 – 0.

Somerset Eagles 0 Young Men Social Club 5

Young Men Social Club traveled to the White Hill Field and defeated the Somerset Eagles 5 – 0. David Jones Jr. opened the scoring for Young Men Social Club in the 12th minute, Ryan Parris doubled the lead in the 23rd minute. Jones Jr would find the back of the net for a second time in the match in the 43rd minute before Nigel Williams made it 4 – 0 to the Young Men Social Club in the 45th minute.

The lone goal in the second half came in the 48th minute as Williams scored his second goal of the game.
