Bermuda Men Finish 3rd In RAN Super Sevens
The 2022 Rugby Americas North [RAN] Super Sevens tournament came to an end in Mexico City at UNAM’s Deportivo Alfredo Harp Helu Grounds, with Bermuda represented in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
Bermuda’s men finished third in their division, losing only one match all tournament. They advance to the CCAF Games in June in El Salvador, which will see the top four teams in Rugby Americas North and the top four teams in Rugby Americas South going to battle.
Bermuda’s men took on Trinidad & Tobago in the men’s quarter-finals and Bermuda emerged victorious 12 – 5.
In their semi-final battle, Bermuda took on Mexico, losing 22 – 14. Bermuda then took on the Cayman Islands in the men’s third place Cup and picked up the win 19 – 14.
On the women’s side, Bermuda took on St. Lucia, losing 29 – 5, but scoring their first points of the tournament.
The women played in the 5th/6th place match, falling 24 – 10 to the Dominican Republic.
