December 9, 2022

CEA Dressage 2022 December 9, 2022_2 The Bermuda round of the newly introduced CEA “Mini” Challenge as well as the CEA Regional Dressage Challenge will be held on Saturday 10th December at the National Equestrian Centre.

A spokesperson said, “These competitions are unique in that riders from CEA membered countries are provided an opportunity to compete against other countries without the expense or logistical challenge of travelling overseas. Rather, appointed judge travels to each participating country to judge at the officially organized CEA dressage competitions.

“Travelling to Bermuda, as this year’s appointed judge is “FEI 4* Judge & USEF “S” Dressage Judge, Cesar Torrente. Although a resident of the USA, Mr. Torrente originally hails from Columbia. He started riding at the age of 12 years and competed in his very first Grand Prix competition before turning 20 years old.

“Since then, Mr. Torrente has competed and trained horses to Grand Prix Level. He has been the Columbian National Champion at all levels for several years. In addition, Mr. Torrente has successfully competed in three Bolivarian Games earning several Team Gold and Individual Silver medals.

“He has competed in three Pan Am Games and two Central American Games. In 2010, he earned a Team Gold medal at the South American Games held in Columbia and a second Team Gold medal at the Central American Games held in Puerto Rico.

“It is no surprise that, in the dressage world, Judge Torrente is referred to as a ‘rider’s judge.’ Indeed, he truly knows what it is like to be in the Judge’s box as well as in the dressage arena. Judge Torrente will also be conducting dressage clinics to competitors on Sunday after the completion of the Challenges.”
