Football: FA Challenge Cup Sunday Results

PHC Zebras, X-Roads, Paget Lions, Hamilton Parish, and Devonshire Cougars all walked away with wins in recent FA Challenge Cup football action.

Wolves 1 – PHC Zebras 8

The PHC Zebras continued their good form at Wellington Oval this season with an 8 – 1 win over Wolves in their FA Challenge Cup battle.

The PHC Zebras got a hat trick from Paul Simons, with Jalun Hassell adding two goals. Na’eem Griffith, Jenico Sealy, and Shakhai Trott all added a goal each, while Antinori Butterfield scored the lone goal for Wolves.

X-Roads 3 – Dandy Town Hornets 2

At Lord’s in St. David’s, X-Roads edged the Dandy Town Hornets 3 – 2 to advance to the next round of the FA Challenge Cup.

X-Roads got two goals from Donavan Thompson and a single strike from Amir Wilson to defeat the Dandy Town Hornets for a second time in three weeks; Tomiko Goater scored twice for the Dandy Town Hornets.

Devonshire Colts 1 – Paget Lions 2

At the Police Field, the Paget Lions came from behind and edged the Devonshire Colts 2 – 1.

Devonshire Colts took the lead in the 25th minute when Daniel Ball scored, and they took that lead to the break. Antwan Russell equalized for the Paget Lions in the 67th minute, and then Kushae Hypolite scored the winner in the 71st minute to put the Paget Lions back in the FA Cup next round draw.

Hamilton Parish 4 – Robin Hood 1

Hamilton Parish defeated Robin Hood 4 – 1 at the Wellington Oval to advance to the next round of the FA Challenge Cup.

Macquulle Walker scored twice to lead Hamilton Parish to victory, while Kion Knights and Jarye Bean added a goal each; Wilmer Brayan Machuca Noriega scored the lone goal for Robin Hood.

Devonshire Cougars 4 – Somerset Trojans 1 [after extra time]

At the Devonshire Recreation Club, the Devonshire Cougars needed an extra 30 minutes to eliminate the Somerset Trojans in their FA Challenge Cup battle 4 – 1.

Justin Corday scored a 25-yard free kick in the 29th to give the Somerset Trojans the lead, which they took to the break.

Elisha Darrell equalized for the Devonshire Cougars late in the match to send the game into extra time.

The Devonshire Cougars took the lead in the 92nd minute when Jayori Fox found the back of the net. Domico Coddington then made it 3 – 1 in the 96th minute, and Demetre Daniels closed out the scoring in the 112th minute to earn the Devonshire Cougars the win.
