Netball: Storm Wins, Fire & Rams Red Draw

Two Bermuda Netball Association Under 17 matches took place, the first match of the evening saw Storm defeat the Dandy Stars 45 – 21.

Best attacker Anisa Seon led the Storm with 31 goals, while Jaelyn Rewan-Lambert, and Jamir Hatherley both added 5 goals each, and Rihanna Reddicks scored 4 times, Deontae Scott was named the team MVP, and their best defender was Amayah Smith-Burt.

Dandy Stars got 10 goals from MVP and best attacker Sioma Rudo, Tejah Bean chipped in with 7 goals, Nahjae Rayner scored 3 goals, and Moriah Bridgewater scored once, with Breynia Darrell named the team’s best defender.

The second match saw Phoenix Fire and the North Village Lady Rams Red, finish tied 33 -33.

This match was a seesaw affair with the lead changing several times throughout, with neither team being able to advance their lead beyond 3 goals before the other came roaring back. Both teams showed amazing attacking play, with shooters landing shots from distance. Not to be outdone collective team defending created several turnovers. In the end, the time ran out and a share of the spoils was a fair result.

Phoenix Fire was led by co-MVP and best attacker Kammie Mills who scored 26 goals, Hailey Trott added 4 goals, and Sydney Santos scored 3 times, Khylie Smith was named co-MVP and co-best defender alongside Kari Virgil.

The North Village Lady Rams Reds got 18 goals from Arianna Sabir, with J’Zari Zuill-Dillas adding 15 goals, Sanaa Berkeley was named the team MVP, while the best attacker was Samara Adams, and the best defender was Zipporah Grant.
