Minister Hayward To Lead Delegation At RIMS
Minister of Economy and Labour Jason Hayward will lead the Bermuda delegation at the Risk and Insurance Management Society [RIMS] annual conference held in Atlanta from April 30 – May 3, 2023.
A Government spokesperson said, “RIMS is the world’s largest community dedicated to advancing risk management.
“Titled RISKWORLD, the RIMS conference is the global centre of risk management. This event usually brings together more than 10,000 attendees from over 70 countries, 400 exhibitors from across the globe, and more than 300 speakers.”
Minister Hayward said, “RIMS provides Bermuda with an excellent opportunity to promote its value proposition and highlight the key features that make Bermuda the world’s risk capital.
“The Bermuda Government is committed to supporting and promoting the risk management industry in Bermuda. The RISKWORLD conference lets us meet global leaders, learn about new commercial trends, and emphasize the importance of this sector to Bermuda.
“Over the past several decades, Bermuda has traditionally had a strong presence at this annual conference. Bermuda must remain at the forefront of the RISKWORLD marketplace.”
“The Bermuda Reception hosted by the BDA on Tuesday, May 2, will offer a pivotal opportunity to network with prospective Bermuda market entrants and feature a welcoming address from the Premier and Minister of Finance, E. David Burt, JP, MP. Furthermore, multiple business development, advocacy meetings, and media interviews will be held in Atlanta around the event.”
The spokesperson said, “Minister Hayward will be accompanied by representatives of the Bermuda Business Development Agency [BDA], Bermuda Monetary Authority [BMA], Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers [ABIR], and industry executives.”
Up to recently the PLP wisely left IB get on without interference. They thrived. There’s nothing that will kill IB quicker than incompetent and inexperienced Ministers trying to mix with people with decades of experience. Next Hayward will adopt Minister for IB as a title, then we’re doomed.
Hayward is about the worst person imaginable to represent us at RIMS.
A “Minister of Economy” who consistently demonstrates a complete and utter lack of understanding of fundamental economic principles.
I would like to say only in Bermuda, but then I look at who claims to be running for President of the United States again
