Nope, Sorry! Come up with some CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS to rebuild our frightful Economy! I Do NOT support Environmental Groups. They cost the Island big Money by their nonsense. I support green space built into any large proposal like this. There is a balance to strike in these scenarios. Not coming off the many jobs to fight for environmentalists? Strike Action?! FOR What?!
My Fellow Bermudians will continue to leave these shore’s including many of our young people. Bermuda is not the “it” place it used to be.

Unfortunately it is a waste of time because the Premier has I’m sure already signed off on it to allow Gencom to get what funding they can. What other tourist destination gives 20 years of duty and tax holidays to a private entity to build residential real estate? It is a total sell out of Bermuda and the PLP will own this as they will now have destroyed Bermuda economically and environmentally.

If this was good for Bermuda, Burt would be in photo ops daily, but he is not, preferring to bask in the lights of Austin Texas with his failing fintech push.

Most of these “environmental” groups are politically aligned and we know with whom they sit. If they are so against this SDO then what do they prefer happen to the site? Do they want the structure and property to turn into a dilapidated shell of itself? Would that be good for the environment? While I wasn’t a fan of the initial design I saw, Gencom has put further clarifying statements out which have allayed my concerns. I hope this project moves forward so that many more people will be employed, in various capacities and through the different phases. So many families can do with the additional income from having a member working on this project. I am sure the special interest group critics all have been working non stop through the pandemic. “Who doesn’t feel it doesn’t know it.”

No this hotel development is really needed. Environmentalist masquerading for political reasons. This investment in Bermuda is a must and right now it is extremely difficult to get huge companies to invest in Bermuda.

    No protest no No no

Bermuda has not been “the “it” place it used to be” since the 1980s. We priced ourselves out of the general tourism market decades ago.

  7. Bright & Early says:

We need to bring Bermuda back to where it was 20 years ago not the way it is now for Tourism is so bad. I think that some compromise is in need the the development bring the height of the buildings proposed down to 3 levels instead of 6 maybe even 4 levels. Have them work on the hotel as top priority. Hoe it all works out. Because Bermuda need CASH FLOW.

20 years ago ? I think more like 45 years ago.
