Kastor To Speak At Bermuda Triangle Challenge
Olympic medalist and best-selling author Deena Kastor will be the guest speaker for the 2024 Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge.
A spokesperson said, “The Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge [“BTC”] is pleased to announce that U.S. Olympic Marathoner Deena Kastor has agreed to be the honorary guest speaker for the January 2024 race weekend to be held Friday, January 12 through Sunday, January 14.
“Deena Kastor is an American long-distance runner, who held many American records in several long-distance running events. Her running resume includes winning the 2004 Olympic bronze medal in the marathon. Kastor also won the 2005 Chicago Marathon and the London Marathon in 2006, in which she set an American record of 2:19:36 that stood unbroken until 2022. Kastor attended the University of Arkansas, where she was a four-time SEC champion and an eight-time All-American athlete.
“Kastor currently holds the U.S. record for the 10 mile in a time of 51.21 and the women’s road 15k and 8k. She also has the U.S. Women’s Masters marathon record of 2:27:47, which she achieved at the 2015 Chicago marathon. She previously held U.S. records in the women’s marathon, half marathon, 10,000 meters and 5k.
“During the span of her career, she received many awards including the 2003 Jesse Owens Award as the top female track and field athlete in the U.S., the USATF Runner of the Year in 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2008, as well as the C.C. Jackson award in 2002, 2003 and 2004.
“Kastor authored a New York Times bestselling book “Let Your Mind Run,” in which she documents her journey to becoming a world-class Olympic marathoner. Since the beginning of her career in 1977, she has held American records in every distance from the 5k to the marathon. She has also represented the U.S. on 19 national teams, earning 25 national titles along the way.”

The Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge is an international three-day running event that will begin on Friday, January 12, 2024 with the Butterfield Mile, continues on Saturday, January 13, 2024 with the BF&M 10k Run/Walk event, and finish on Sunday, January 14, 2024 with the PwC Bermuda Marathon, Bermuda Half Marathon, and Bermuda Half Marathon Relay.
Runners also have the option of running the Full Triangle Challenge or the Half Triangle Challenge, which sees participants complete three races in three days: the mile on Friday, the 10k on Saturday and either the full marathon or half marathon on Sunday.
