One Person Injured In Collision In Southampton
One woman was taken to hospital after a two vehicle collision in Southampton this morning [May 2].
A police spokesperson said, “Around 8:25am on Tuesday 2nd May 2023, police and other emergency service personnel were dispatched to a report of a two vehicle collision on Middle Road, near the junction with Avocado Lane, in Southampton.
“Initial reports suggest that a motorcar traveling west struck a curbside wall, causing the driver to cross into the eastbound lane and collide with another motorcar, which was stopped in traffic at the temporary traffic lights.
“The motorcar traveling west has overturned as a result, causing the road to be completely obstructed.
“The female driver of the overturned vehicle was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. The other occupant in her vehicle was not reported to be injured.
“There were no injuries reported by the two occupants of the second vehicle.
“Traffic diversions are in place at Church Road and Lighthouse Road until the roadway has been cleared.
“Any witnesses that have not already come forward are encouraged to call 211 as soon as possible.”

I’d like to hear what the ‘witnesses’ at the eastbound light saw . How on earth do you turn a car over there just exiting the single lane heading west ?
I go through that trenching nightmare multiple times a day and the things I see , both drivers and riders doing , are unbelievable and a real threat to the safety of the guys working the site.
