Bermuda have claimed two more medals in tennis at the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin today [June 24].

Bridget Marshall took bronze in the women’s singles, winning 6-2, 6-3, and Zafar O’Loughlin secured bronze in the men’s singles, winning 4-2, 4-1.

Bermuda have now won ten medals, surpassing the eight medals they won at the previous Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 2019.

A team of 19 athletes are representing Bermuda at the Special Olympics in Berlin in athletics, bowling, equestrian, swimming and tennis.

It is the first time Germany has hosted the event, which involves 7,000 athletes competing in 24 sports.
